Business Administration of a Child Care Center
Question: Discuss an appropriate policy regarding sick children that a center could implement, discuss how the evaluation of program quality and program policy can be self-reinforcing. Answer: The current narrative firstly intends to ascertain the appropriate policy regarding sick children in the child care center. The sick policy of the day care center differs from one center to another. The child care center mentioned in the case study can consider the policy of symptom free for 24 hours where a particular child needs to be free from symptoms of ill health for 24 hours before returning to the child care center (Whattoexpect., 2016). The child care centers can cover certain symptoms such as vomiting, fever and cough, diarrhea and rash and many other contagious diseases under this rule. The day care center for children also can get the policy approved to acquire license for operation. The present section of the study examines the impact of the sick child policy with special orientation to the case study. The sick child policy can assist in exclusion of the requirements for handling the sick children although the families might find it difficult to take care for the children. The sick child policy can act as a safety measure that in turn can help in reduction of the risk of other children in the center to become sick (Stoney, 2004). As mentioned in the case study, the working parents sometimes face difficulties in picking up their child from the child care center and thereby break the regulations for sick children as well as due payments. Therefore, the child care center needs to take care of the sick child until the parents arrive to pick them up. For that reason, the sick child policy can help the operators of the child care center to exclude the chances of handling sick children. This is how the operators of the care center can exclude the requirements for managing sick children for which the entity needs to bear some cost Encyclopedia on (Early Childhood Development., 2016). Furthermore, by having a sick policy I place, the management of the center can create a healthy environment for all children in the child care center. The current study focuses on the impact of the behavior of the parents on the child care center. The behavior of the parents exerts immense influence on the overall functioning of the child care center. As per the case study, it can be hereby ascertained that the non-cooperation from the parents can put the child care into trouble. The child care center will need to take care of the sick children and have the need for proper infrastructure to handle the sick children (Mentoring.org., 2016). The case study reflects the fact that inspite of having proper infrastructure, trained experts, degrees on development of child, the operators can have the child care can implement the sick policy (Early Childhood Development., 2016). The establishment of the sick policy can help the management to create a healthy environment for all the offspring and in minimization of the risk of spreading the illness in the particular child care center (Mentoring.org., 2016) Furthermore, the current study intends to investigate the impact of multiple instances of the particular parent behavior on the child care center. The multiple instances of the particular behavior where the guardians do not want to pick up the sick children can affect the quality of services of the care center and accessibility. The standard of service might fall and affect the social as well as cognitive development along with medical safety of the children (Stoney, 2004). Finally, the present study also sheds light on different ways to avoid any negative impact of the parent behavior on the child care center. The operators of the child care center can avoid the negative impacts of the identified behavior of the parents as mentioned in the case study by introduction of the sick child policy. In addition to this, the management of the company might review the strategies of both availability and at the same time the accessibility of the child care. Along the same line, the management needs to set tough regulations that are compliant with the standards for the sick child policy. Moreover, the center can help cut down different illness by asking for all children as well as employees to have immunization (Stoney, 2004) References Encyclopedia on Early Childhood Development.
